Such an opinion was expressed by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in a speech at the diplomatic corps in Addis Ababa, Russian news agency TASS reported. Noting that he couldn’t speak as "an expert in monetary matters," Lavrov doubted that anyone would start a war over the dollar, as it would be "crazy". At the same time, many countries, according to him are interested in guarantees regarding reliability in economic and trade relations with partners, said the Russian foreign minister. The head of the Foreign Ministry called the use of national currencies, including their digital versions, as a way that can provide such guarantees. "We can mention digital currencies, which is already developed and used, for example, in China, Venezuela and Iran. We are also thinking about it," Lavrov said.
